About the author—

A former newspaperman, James P.Olsen was a prolific contributor of short stories and novellas to the pulp magazines of the 1930s, turning out mystery, detective and Western fiction for Street & Smith, Fiction House and Culture Publishing. His stories were featured in such periodicals as Cowboy Stories, Clues Mysteries, Action Stories, All Western, Lariat, Wide World Adventure, Super Detective, Black Aces, Spicy Detective and Private Detective under his own name and such pseudonyms as James A. Lawson and Lawton Jameson.

Olsen was the author of the western novels Powdersmoke Paddy, Riordan Rides the Range and The Curse of the Killer.
