THE SHADOW by H. Bedford-Jones

Before “The Shadow” by Walter Gibson appeared in 1931, there was another Shadow. This one from the typewriter of the pulp veteran H. Bedford-Jones. Appearing in an issue of PEOPLE’S in 1922, this Shadow was mostly lost in obscurity as those original issues of PEOPLE’S faded into dust. A hardback version published by Street & Smith came out several years later, this Shadow was eclipsed by his more famous “brother” in 1931.
