During the 1950s, the company that was to become Marvel Comics was known as Atlas Comics. In this transitional era between the super-hero comics of the 1940s and the super-hero revival of the 1960s, Atlas published a wide range of science fiction, horror, mystery, fantasy, western, romance, humor, adventure, crime, and war comics. Under the editorial leadership of the soon-to-be-legendary Stan Lee, Atlas employed the talents of an amazing roster of influential artists, including Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Bill Everett, Joe Maneely, Don Heck, Gene Colan, and Paul Reinman. Battlefield was one of Atlas’ standout war titles. This volume contains all 11 issues of the series, originally published from April 1952 through May 1953.
